Avery & Brown joins the Climate & Ecological Emergency Bill Alliance

Russ Avery • May 13, 2021

Urgent action is needed to reverse climate and ecological breakdown

Today, we are delighted to have joined the Climate & Ecological Emergency (CEE) Bill Alliance.

"Parliament declared a Climate Emergency back in 2019 – but actions haven’t matched their words. An emergency requires strong, decisive action to reverse the climate and ecological crisis."

This is yet another step we are taking to prove that we will do whatever we can to become regenerative business - e.g. one which gives back far more to society and the planet than what we take from them.

Why do we need the CEE Bill?

Taken directly from the website:

Drafted by scientists, legal experts, ecological economists and environmentalists, the CEE Bill is designed specifically to reverse the climate and ecological breakdown we face.

The Bill asks the UK to take responsibility for its fair share of greenhouse gas emissions, to actively restore biodiverse habitats in the UK and to stop damage to the environment through the production, transportation and disposal of the goods we consume.

Tabled by Caroline Lucas of the Green Party, the Bill now has support of over 100 MPs across 8 political parties, from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

We are delighted to sign up, pledge our support, and do whatever we can to help bring the Bill into effect. After speaking today with Anna Hyde, who manages the Alliance, we have already committed to helping raise awareness for the Bill by writing this post, sharing on our social media channels, and doing whatever we can to help out at any future events the Alliance manage to run.

As always, if there are any updates regarding the CEE Bill or anything else to do with our regenerative business journey, we will share them here in Outpost and on our social media channels.

London, UK (17 October 2023) Three UK Certified B Corporations have launched a new campaign celebrating 'Better Business Pioneers' – individuals in the workplace driving positive change in the face of inaction from world leaders. The campaign, which launches on Monday 23 October 2023, comes in response to the lack of progress on pressing global issues like climate change, biodiversity loss and social inequality. By spotlighting those already driving change, the campaign aims to counter climate doom, inspire more conscious actions, and showcase how we all have the power to shape a better future. The campaign is a collaboration between Avery & Brown, a sustainable brand, marketing and creative agency, The Better Business Network, an inclusive network for purpose-driven business owners and leaders, and OPEN Media, an out-of-home media owner, operating a portfolio of screens across the entire UK.

This is the first in a series of several blogs looking at key brands in the built environment sector and how they approach impact reporting. We’ll be looking at design, outcomes, metrics, audience, insights and much more. Impact reporting is a crucial activity for each and every organisation, but it can also be daunting and overwhelming for a business embarking on its first. The purpose of this blog series is to show the many ways that your company’s impact can be reported and what to look out for along the way. For instance, is an organisation acting upon its insights? Are they communicating their message clearly? And most importantly of all, are they doing it in a way that is sustainable?
