The climate crisis: Hollywood doesn't need to make any more disaster movies

Why are we hellbent on taking climate action? Here's why.

Have you seen any of these? The Day After Tomorrow, 2012, San Andreas, Twister, The Perfect Storm...? Hollywood absolutely loves a disaster movie. Nothing says 'summer blockbuster' better.


But, here we are in Summer 2021... and we're in the disaster movie.


Here's a montage video by The Guardian of some of the extreme weather events from around the globe which have taken place over the last few weeks alone. We didn't know one four-minute video of real footage could look more terrifying than the best Hollywood CGI, and yet here it is...

Almost unreal, isn't it? And things are only going to get worse. We are wondering when we might see some wildfires here in Surrey, or when the river Wey will burst its banks, or when we will experience a storm which blows over a lot more than just a few fence panels.


This isn't alarmism. Don't listen to the climate change deniers, who use the same old boring and weak argument of "But the climate has always changed!" This is man-made climate change. It's here now, and it's wreaking havoc. So we've got one question for you:
