Cero Rooms

Design and identity for a truly sustainable garden room startup.

The brief

Cero Rooms is the brainchild of Jules Stevenson, an entrepreneur tired of the same old promises of eco-friendly garden rooms that aren’t particularly sustainable at all. Jules engaged Avery & Brown as Cero’s first and foremost marketing and design partner.

Our work with Cero Rooms

Cero and Avery & Brown kicked off their relationship with a frank and open discovery session, dissecting the current market, understanding what competitors are promising their customers, and identifying personas to align with the Cero brand offering.

This initial piece of work was not only key to understanding how Cero can differentiate itself from the current garden room landscape on a product and brand level, it also galvanised the relationship between the startup and the agency, with everyone involved soon realising that we shared common ground on brand values and market positioning.

The results

Avery & Brown’s creative team provided Jules with a number of brand directions, before settling on an identity that appealed to Cero’s discerning market. This included logos, colour ways, and typography, and a full set of brand guidelines.

The team also built out Cero’s online presence, including a multipage website that showcased Jule’s origin story as well as clear and informative information to differentiate the brand from others in the sector, and relevant social brands to speak directly to followers whilst retaining the correct style and voice.

Finally, and most importantly, Avery & Brown delivered a detailed marketing roadmap to set a clear path for the startup, advising on language, terminology, transparency and values. With an industry awash with false claims and massaged statistics, Cero is set to stand out as a brand that is honest, accessible and truly sustainable.

“What a fantastic opportunity – not only a client who shares our frustrations with greenwashing, but also with a brand vision to which we can really add value. We are so proud to be Cero’s brand consultancy and expect big things for this sustainable startup.”
